	After retiring in 1999, Mick's interests remained with the racing circuit and maintained an involvement in grand prix racing as General Manager of Racing for Honda Racing Corporation, from 2000 to the end of 2004. Later however, he turned his sights to aviation by gaining his helicopter pilots licence. You'll often see Mick flying around the Gold Coast in Queensland (his home town). These days Mick spends a lot of his time with his family, his wife Selina and their two children Allexis (11) and Jack (6) at their home on the Gold Coast. Although Mick's achievements in business have grown in Australia, Europe and the United States, but mostly enjoys being in Australia and home with his family. CURRENT NEWS

	The Mick Doohan MotoCoaster - In September 2007, The Mick Doohan MotoCoaster was launched at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. The ride has two trains of 16 custom-made motorbikes. The last two are fitted with purpose-built sidecars for children. The track is 605 metres long and has 18 banks, bends and turns placing emphasis on high-speed corners, last-minute braking and plenty of open throttle. Take-off is fast — just like the real thing. 	The Salvation Army Annual Red Sheild Appeal - Mick Doohan is very proud to be named the 2009 Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal Ambassador. All members of the public are being urged to donate to the appeal.
